Stop Diet Guilt! Discover how Intermittent Fasting can be a lifestyle of daily indulgence

intermittent fasting Apr 08, 2025

Intermittent Fasting is a lifestyle of daily indulgence.

Stop feeling guilty about indulging in the foods you love. You can have the cake and eat it too, in small portions!

Ditch the restrictive weekend binge and embrace a balanced approach to eating you can sustain every day. Try this instead:

It is not uncommon to look at the diet we are currently on and separate the weekday meals from weekend ones. But indulging, completely ignoring the discipline we have Monday to Friday, for a “free pass” is detrimental to our progress and so outdated.

We end up binge eating when we let the rains loose. Why not just enjoy every day instead? How is that possible you might ask/ By incorporating small changes, making tweaks to your everyday meal, in a way that is sustainable, mindful and not detrimental to your progress.

I talk about Intermittent Fasting as a lifestyle because it’s an everyday choice I make and many of us do if we want to see and keep the results we’ve accomplished so far. Rain or shy, travel or not, we work hard on being disciplined, practice portion control and staying on schedule because we’ve trained our bodies to expect food at a certain time, in a certain quantity. So after months and years of achieving this consistent cooperation from your body, to respond and turn off hunger on the clock, why would you want to ruin it? Well, the short answer is, you don’t.

Side note: if you want to try intermittent fasting and don’t know where to start, I have a free guide for you here

Learn how to incorporate treats mindfully and still see results. Here is how I incorporate the “goodies” on a daily basis. The #1 rule I tell myself when avoiding late night exceptions when delaying a meal, is that it’s not forever, not till next outing, or not even till next weekend, it’s just till tomorrow.

So tomorrow better happen, pronto. Otherwise, if I break that promise, next time I tell myself to delay, I will lose credibility and it won't work. Same as with kids, practice delayed gratification and create trust with yourself.

And so I pick the food item I want to “indulge” in and mindfully incorporate it with other options that are tried and true to keep me on track. Yes, i could just have spoonfuls of Nutella, and then feel remorse and have to double or triple my active minutes and eat grass the next day, or I could just included half the portion to tame my sweet tooth and combine it with protein, add some fresh fruits, plenty of water and a nice 45 min walk after to burn off some of the energy. This is how compromise looks like: I eat my chocolate, I don’t regret it and I don’t have remorse. Check check and check.

Key here is balance: get what you want without fallout

Takeaway: You can create balance by eating the foods you want in less portion, include healthy options, don't skip your active minutes, lots of water intake and of course maintain your fasting schedule.
